Our Beginnings
Dear brothers and sisters,
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
My name is Sheikh Saleh Ahmed Hamidi, In 2007, my wife and I were shopping in Whitechapel, London. Whilst shopping a person approached me and stated that they know me very well and that they watch my programmes on TV regularly. They also handed over some money and requested that I donate this on their behalf in Bangladesh.
I was pondering as to what I should do and decided not to put the money in a personal account and impulsively decided to enter the HSBC branch on Whitechapel Road (London) and open an account with the name ‘Goreeb and Yateem Trust Fund’. To my surprise and as days passed the amount kept on increasing at which point I decided to register the charity with the Charity Commission. Thus, in 2008 the charity was successfully registered as Goreeb and Yateem Trust Fund.We are now one of only a handful of charities who focus primarily in Bangladesh.
We are now one of only a handful of charities who focus primarily in Bangladesh. This has given GYTF a prominent place in the UK to assist the less fortunate in Bangladesh. Our projects now cover most of Bangladesh as we have grown in size and strength. We operate a number of projects in Banglesh all of which can be found on our website. GYTF has grown in strength thanks to the donation of our donors and the hard work of our team both in the UK and Bangladesh. We aim to continue with our projects and hope that we work together to gain reward both in this world and hereafter.
Please pray for me and my family, along with the board of trustees and all my colleagues so that we can continue to dedicate our efforts to good causes. We ask you for your continued support.

Our Mission
From the very beginning, it has always been our mission to help and support those who are underprivileged, and this continues to be our mission today as it has been at the very beginning. In fact, as we have grown our mission has become stronger and as we reach new milestones we renew our mission.
Continuing from our work in the past few years, we aim to build new houses for 5000 families by 2030. By 2025 we aim to build a further 300 Masjids, distribute 10,000 Family Food Packs (including the month of Ramadan), install 10,000 Tube wells, distribute 1000 Rickshaws and continue with our very popular wheelchair distribution. Furthermore, we aim to support at least 100 families with serious illnesses with their medical treatment and eye camps for cataract treatment and also general health checkups. In order to empower communities, we intend to open new centers to empower women (Sewing machines & Computer courses) and continue with educational support for blind students.
These are some of our aims and objectives for the coming years. As we move forward from the crippling Covid 19 pandemic and towards the future where we can assist in rebuilding the lives of those who are already poor and needy but were hard hit by the pandemic. We hope that you will join us in this mission of GYTF.
