Hafiz & Blind Hafiz Project In Bangladesh
It is pertinent that when an opportunity arises for one to become a Hafiz, it must be embraced and held on to in order to keep them grounded on Islam and its teachings. It is also the case that many families are unable to support their children financially to study in a Madrasa or Masjid. All our Blind students in the Islamic Institute are orphans and spend their entire life in a Madrasha as there are no future prospects for them. We have been supporting Blind students by financing their studies and accommodation to those who are memorising the Holy Quran to become Hafiz-e-Quran under our Hafiz sponsorship project. We have sponsored over 800 students in our Hafiz sponsorship project. Located in different Madrasas around the country these orphan Blind students are studying to become Hafiz.
Our support for education project has been since 2008, thus far we have provided around £230k in supporting various education institutes including Hafiz sponsorship till 2012 and support for blind. We are attempting to bring more Madrasas on board who accommodate and educate blind students. We want them – blind students - to feel part of the system and society and not be subject to vulnerability and neglect. We hope that this platform will allow them to achieve their lifelong ambition. It costs £300 per year to sponsor a poor or blind student to become a hafiz. The duration of the course is normally 3 years and the sponsorship in general covers the cost of 3 years, although it differs according to the student’s ability. The fee covers tuition fees, boarding costs, food, books, and other general day-t-day costs.
Blind Hafiz Support Moulvibazar
Because I’m blind, no one really cared or took notice. I felt useless in society. Only my parents made me feel valued. Alhamdulillah, since GYTF have taken my care, I’m now able to memorise the holy Quran and feel very confident and valued.
